Anyway, I seem to be on the mend so I thought I'd at least tackle the meme Amy hit me with before I was attacked by the hunta virus.
So the meme goes:
Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
Open the book to page 123.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the next three sentences.
Tag five people.
Okay, next to me, as I sit at my desk is a pile of magazines, Good Housekeeping, 2 months worth, sigh, I am soo old, but they don't really count as books even though there are "books" excerpted in them, and then under that is.....drum roll please....
Gift From the Sea
by Anne Morrow Lindbergh
What does my old friend have to offer, I wonder. This is the book I, well we, but mostly me, used to find readings for our wedding. I took it back out after Caleb died because I was looking for readings for his "service', which we never had. Well, whadda ya know, there's a nice topic for another post. But, back to the business at hand. Here goes:
Today a kind of planetal point of view has burst upon mankind. The world is rumbling and erupting in ever-widening circles around us. The tensions, conflicts and sufferings even in the outermost circle touch us all, reverberate in all of us.
Well, that about sums it up for all of us, right? It's a great book and as I reread it now, there is much in it that resonates, even now and I remember all that she endured and achieved in her lifetime. She is a great example of strength and perseverance, especially for women who have lost a child.
I am off to try and sleep off this uninvited germ fest but I leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the book, one we actually did use at our wedding and I still try to live by, when I am not wishing evil on others that is....
The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was in nostalgia, nor forward to what it might be in dread or anticipation, but living in the present relationship and accepting it as it is now.
I'm not tagging anyone cuz I think by now you've all done this, but should you feel the urge and are reading this, be my guest!

Wow, that's all I've got in regards to the sentences and quote you posted! Wow!
I'm sorry you have the creepy crud! It bites...maybe we are actually passing it via computer! Ya think that's a possibility? Hahanot!
Get better soon!
Umm...mine would be very boring. This is what I have from the nearest book right now:
"This program allows you to create fake services on your machine that are just proxies for real services running somewhere else. This program is not the same as an HTTP proxy server, which parses a client's HTTP request and redirects to the appropriate server. This program is a proxy for one specific server and treats client requests and server responses as opaque streams of bytes."
*yawn*
Sorry you've been ill and sorry I haven't replied to your email yet. Thank you. I am in the process of replying I just can't keep up with everything at the moment.
I've resisted doing this meme, I'm saving it till I actually am reading something other than deadbaby or trash books. To be fair I haven't been reading so much lately.
antigone's book quote is a killer though. If ever I can't sleep I'm going to be visiting these comments to have another read. LOL x
"...but living in the present relationship and accepting it as it is now."
really, right now, this is it, huh? all roads lead to rome on this one. the only conclusion to come to, on any and every topic. kinda comforting. maybe that's why one of the buddhas is always laughing.
"stop searching you assholes! peace is right here and now...HAHAHA! don't break your heads!"
Ugh... I was sick recently and it's no fun, especially with the goo coming from the lungs. Hope you feel better soon.
Wow. That's brilliant.
Hope you are feeling better. Being sick is adding insult to injury.
